Frequently Asked Questions
-
What should I do to prolong the life of my Serta mattress?
The following suggestions will help prolong the life of your mattress:
- Using a mattress pad or protective cover will help avoid stains, which are not covered by the warranty.
- Rotate your mattress to promote even wear.
- Use a good quality bed frame (see warranty card for queen- and king-size diagrams).
- To eliminate bends in the border wiring that surrounds the mattress, avoid sitting or standing on the edge of your mattress or box spring. Warranty does not cover bent border wiring.
-
When should I replace my mattress?
A good quality mattress should last 8-10 years however you may need to replace your mattress more frequently as your sleep requirements change.
Over time you may find that you’re not getting the same quality of sleep you used to. Changes in quality of sleep can be due to wear and tear on your mattress, but can also be due to physiological changes or changes in your sleep environment.
If your mattress is less than 8-10 years old and you’re finding you’re not sleeping as well as you used to, it might be time to investigate a new mattress that better fits your needs.
-
Why do I need to rotate my mattress?
Rotating your mattress every two weeks for the first four months, then every three months thereafter helps ensure that your mattress is wearing evenly and helps minimise the dipping that naturally occurs in some mattresses.
-
Should I get a mattress protector?
A quality mattress protector helps protect your mattress from spills and stains as well as helping minimise the buildup of spores, mold and fungi for a cleaner, healthier sleep.
-
What size mattress should I buy?
They say bigger is always better, but it’s always best to consider your needs and available space before jumping into a King size mattress. Below you’ll find the sizes and dimensions of all Serta’s range of mattresses.
